Behold, the Power of Lowe's

ah, the grand opening of the Lowe's just down the street from our house ... of course, we'll be there tomorrow. don't completely understand how this Lowe's will be different from any other Lowe's across America we have frequented ... will there be bikini models at the door giving away riding lawnmowers?? perhaps Annie and her daddy will make the big trip whilst self is getting a haircut in the morning ... nothing against Lowe's ... love a good stop in myself ... all the plywood and nails and paint and birdfeeders are absolutely fascinating but all in all would rather be in Old Navy or the Gap ...

Annie's Ghostly Skull Cap (no pun intended)

Anonymous Inquiry

forgot to address anonymous inquiry that was posted a couple of days ago (apologize for having to reply here, but there was no e-mail address ) ... for me, recovery from the fourth laparoscopic surgery was much easier, but I was in an excellent hospital ... as far as the odds of having to have the surgery again, it depends entirely on the stage of your endometriosis from all I've read and is specific case to case. I know that's a really general answer, but that's all I know. Please e-mail me at llbarclay @ hotmail.com if I can answer any more questions ...

Ramble On

decided would chronicle daily happenings of self yesterday as weather here has been horribly gross this week, and Annie and I have been pretty much just hanging around the house ... abbreviated version follows as self inexplicably stopped the chronicling because just plain forgot:

6:00 AM rise early for quiet time to reflect on day (i.e. put on smidge of make-up in case of errand-running opportunity)

6:45 AM go outside into rain with Hopie to convince her is excellent weather for pooping and she should give it a try; come back inside having accomplished goal ... realized have forgotten to feed dogs as Mary is positioned at their "magic closet" wherein food is stored.

7:05AM sit down with husband to watch ABC News preparing self for meaningful discussion about morning's stories about North Korea and the like but instead focus on Robin Roberts' increased wearing of bold colors since she has begun co-anchoring and hear none of actual news as self's mind wanders into Robin's history and how she came from the Gulf Coast, etc. ... met her once at a basketball game in New Orleans as her nephew played for Mississippi State ... is lovely person ... Annie awake ... all hands on deck ...

7:10 AM - 8:20 AM breakfast with Annie (yes, it takes that long), complete with burping, general messiness, lovely morning poop, etc.

8:45 AM the Doodle Bops on the Disney Channel ... not my favorite ... honestly, could there be any worse lip-synchers in the entire world? am much bigger fan of the Little Einsteins ... find self learns much from them and often watch even when sweet Annie is asleep ... not ashamed ...

9:00 AM naptime for precious child and resuming of laundry, etc. for self ...

Madness

feel is good time for life update ... went to wonderful dr. last week for very, very familiar pelvic pain and (shock) he feels it's microscopic endometriosis ... in order to avoid surgery, I'll begin Lupron in about 5 days ... this will basically throw my body into menopause ( I know, God bless Anthony and all others living in the house with me.) For long-time readers with very good memories, Lupron was the first step of IVF and not anything I am necessarily excited about ... it comes with a host of side effects, but my amazing doctor feels he can help with this by prescribing an accompanying hormone. As I have all the faith in the world in him, I know he'll do his best.
What this means long-term is that we have a window within which to work (less than a year) if we want to have another baby. Because I have a very aggressive case of endometriosis, the game plan now is to try to suppress it for a bit until Annie is a little bit older and then maybe think about baby #2. Of course we're happy with Annie and one is plenty. After all, I was an only child (sort of -- my cousins are like siblings), but Anthony and I have had many, many conversations about this. In the end, we could always end up back in the world of IVF. Or we could get pregnant naturally. Or I could have the much-recommended as-soon-as-you're-through-having-babies-have-a-hysterectomy and we could adopt. For the moment, though, we have to pray the Lupron will do its job and buy us more time ... life is maddening at times but always interesting ... after all, that's why I have this blog!

Line Loyalty

Life Lesson #1:
feel is self's duty to share standing in line etiquette, heretofore known as "line loyalty..." as is often the case, much of life is spent standing in one line or another, say at Lowe's or Target or Wal-Mart or Old Navy or you get the picture ... is VERY important NOT to switch lines once you have chosen a line and made your way into aforementioned line ... trust me, bad things just start to happen if you switch lines; the original line somehow knows you have switched lines and is NOT HAPPY ... your new line will suddenly have a price check for aisle 7, 439 or a credit card that has been stolen and involved in identity theft; the cashier will announce it's her break time and you have to wait for the changing of the cashiers; a baby will begin to have a meltdown (could be Annie -- look closely), or perhaps a stink bomb will go off. unfortunately, did not heed own advice today whilst out doing some rejuvenating just-me shopping and made mistake of changing lines at Old Navy; needless to say, things began to go seriously wrong but knew could not switch back to yet another line because then entire store would probably be sucked into earth in giant crater. come to think of it, shopping is very, very dangerous ... those shopping carts that look to be completely resistant to wind because of all those holes will just go sailing across the parking lot if you're not careful ... oh, is really a sacrifice just to step into the world of shopping. thank goodness self is willing to take the chance ...

The Best-Laid Plans

know may jinx current situation but will forge ahead anyway ... with Annie napping oh so well the last two days, self has been able to go back to actually getting things done during the day (miracle, miracle, miracle -- is why so many pictures on blog; never know when spare time will come again) ... decided this morning (while Annie's laundry was in the dryer) would find precious husband's work sweaters due to predicted cold front roaring through tonight ... why simple little things can't be just that is beyond me. during search, managed to break picture frame holding picture of the little soccer team he coached in Gulfport and little soccer trophy completely bit the dust ... poor soccer man on trophy had no chance -- his leg shot across the closet with surprising force as he hit the carpet. and, best part, still no sweaters. I swear we have moved into the black hole of clothes. speed with which they get lost is terrifying really ... won't go into detail here as to lengths I went to in order to find old "sweetie" tank top I sometimes sleep in because is beyond mortifying ... way beyond ...

Can You Spot the Daisy Dog?

Annie's Fuzzy Bunny Slippers

Governed By a Princess

is grand when pictures won't post ... will try again later ...
is miraculous that lovely Annie is napping at the moment and has been for over an hour ... her little existence is so unpredictable these days ... had total meltdown before we left for KinderMusik yesterday then was absolute angel there: of course would rather it happen that way. honestly growing teeth must just be awful for them ...
had lovely weekend governed by the princess ... in-laws in town to baby-sit, so Anthony and I had fabulous afternoon out on Saturday ... went to Moe's for lunch (heavenly), ran a few errands (amazing how much faster we go when it's just us) and went to a really cool little bookstore in downtown Franklin. was beautiful day ...
ok, must go monitor laundry (Mandi, I may actually get it into the dryer) -- will try to post Annie pictures soon.

The Teething Fairy

apologize for recent lack of Annie pictures ... has been interesting last two days as would appear teething for her has led to complete wakefulness (i.e. greatly reduced daytime naps, greatly increased nightly awakenings and tired mommy and daddy) to add fuel to the fire, the DVD player ate one of Annie's favorite Baby Bach DVD's, Mary ate one of her favorite plastic she-can-chomp-it-all-she-wanted-to books and Hopie ate her cereal this morning as I changed a code brown diaper. books refer to this as waiting for a visit from the "teething fairy," but I'm not quite so sure ...
1/2 hour til "Lost," and yes, Kate, we'll be watching it tonight :)

Lost and Distracted

have been recently distracted by fall premieres of CSI and ER and wildly excited by approaching premiere of "Lost" and did not realize importance of Halloween costume for Annie ... only found out at KinderMusik today ... did not know self should have been on eBay bidding for cute costumes long ago ... will now find stores sold out of costumes and Annie will have to go as a tin foil ball ... sadness ...
now, back to Lost ... wonder who The Others are and if Jack or Sawyer will be shirtless soon?? oops, distraction again ...
